Discover a more intuitive way to find library collection resources via UoN

The University of Newcastle Library is introducing an updated Library Search interface, designed to make discovering resources easier, faster, and more intuitive.
While the layout will remain familiar, the refreshed design brings new functionality to improve how you find resources made available through the HNE Health Libraries, held within the UoN library management system.

A key addition is the new AI-powered Research Assistant, which helps you get started by summarising topics, suggesting related concepts, and guiding you to relevant resources across the Library’s collections—ideal when you’re exploring a topic or unsure where to begin.
Search has also become more intuitive with natural language functionality, allowing you to enter full questions this makes it easier to discover both electronic resources and physical collection items.

The updated interface also introduces quick filters, enabling you to easily refine results by resource type and availability, making it simpler to move between online materials and items held in the library’s physical collection. The transition will be seamless, with no downtime or disruption, and full continued access to all Library resources. Learn more, here
