Truth be Told – Shining a Light on Misinformation and Disinformation

Health misinformation is an increasing challenge for healthcare professionals, patients and the broader community. For Library and Information Week 2026, HNE Health Libraries is exploring the theme "Truth be Told: Shining a Light on Misinformation and Disinformation", highlighting the critical role of evidence, information literacy and trusted sources in healthcare.

Health librarians play an important role in supporting evidence-based practice by connecting staff with reliable information, research evidence and trusted clinical resources. As misinformation continues to evolve, libraries remain essential partners in helping healthcare professionals make informed decisions with confidence.
